"the holy grail of white diamonds"
"Universally esteemed as the finest diamond the world"

Golconda diamonds were first identified as originating from India in the Golconda regions but have since been recovered in all major diamond producing areas of the world. Golcondas are typically identified as what is scientifically referred to as a type IIA diamond. Which means the diamond contains little if any nitrogen, which is the element that tends to make diamonds appear yellowish. They are referred to as the purest of all diamonds the lack of nitrogen makes them an exceptionally pure and white. It has been noted that less than 2% of all gem quality diamonds are type IIa.
